How to Prepare the Stuffed Peppers
Step 1: Prepare the Peppers
Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds. Rinse them and let them drain upside down while preparing the filling.
Tip: Choose peppers that can stand upright for even baking.
Step 2: Sauté the Aromatics
Heat olive oil in a pan, then add onions and garlic. Sauté until lightly golden and fragrant.
Step 3: Cook the Filling
Add the ground meat to the pan and cook until browned. Stir in the tomato sauce, cooked rice, paprika, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes so the flavors develop.
Step 4: Stuff the Peppers
Fill each pepper generously with the mixture, pressing lightly to remove air pockets.
If using cheese, add a spoonful on top for a melty final touch.
Step 5: Bake to Perfection
Place the peppers upright in a baking dish. Add a splash of water or broth to the bottom of the dish to keep them moist.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the tops lightly golden…
